Turn it Purple for 2022
Turn it Purple this November for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month. We've got lots of fun activities planned so you can Walk it Purple, Wear it Purple and Bake it Purple!

Turn it Purple is back once again, with Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month now just over a month away!
Each day, twenty-nine people are newly diagnosed with the disease, and for those diagnosed in time for surgery, their chances of survival beyond five-years increase by up to 30%. Since Pancreatic Cancer Action started in 2010, the five-year pancreatic cancer rate has risen from 3% to 7.3% in 2021. This has been helped by the continued awareness of the disease, with you, our supporters, Turning it Purple each year as part of Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.
We want to make this year’s Turn it Purple one of the best yet, and make this a great contributor to our Decade of Change, to raise the five-year survival rate to 13% by 2030! From Walking it Purple to hosting a purple bake sale, we’ve listed below some ways you can participate in Turn it Purple for 2022.
Walk it Purple
Our main event for this year’s Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month invites you to Walk it Purple! We challenge you to walk, jog, run or swim 100km with your friends, family, colleagues or community group!

Bake it Purple
Hold your own Bake it Purple event. What a fun, easy way to get your friends, family, colleagues or community group together to get everyone talking and raising vital funds for Pancreatic Cancer Action.
So that everyone can get the most out of your event, we have put together a guide to help you along the way.
It doesn’t just have to be cake either! You could offer homemade lemonade and a savoury treat, or guess the cake weight!

Wear it Purple
Or why not Turn it Purple in the easiest way? By wearing it purple! Get your work colleagues, community group or family to participate in the most straightforward fundraising event this Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month and wear something purple, particularly on World Pancreatic Cancer Day (Thursday, 17th November). The person who wears the most purple, or the best purple item, wins! Make sure to tag us on social media and use the hashtag #TurnitPurple when you all wear your purple.

Purple Lights UK
Get your local landmark to Light Up Purple for Purple Lights UK. Lighting up a focal point, whether it be your own home or a landmark, is an excellent way of raising awareness of pancreatic cancer during Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, particularly on World Pancreatic Cancer Day (Thursday, 17th November). Three UK-based charities support this activity; Pancreatic Cancer Action, Planets Cancer Charity, and Pancreatic Cancer UK.
