The Care Needs & Experiences of Family Members Affected by Pancreatic Cancer

Aim of research study: This research aims to explore the care needs of those whose loved one has received a pancreatic cancer diagnosis and the associated psychological outcomes.

Outcome hopes for study: By exploring these areas, we hope to gain an insight into how best to support families during this challenging time. This will allow us to inform support interventions and tailor support for families to help improve their quality of life.

Anxiety in Oncology Populations.

Name of organisation: The University of Melbourne.

Funded by: Nil funding.

Aim of research study:  Researchers at The University of Melbourne are interested in psychological factors that contribute to the development and maintenance of anxiety in those with a current or previous diagnosis of cancer.

Outcome hopes for study: The main outcome is to try and understand how anxiety, depression and disordered eating might develop in those with an illness such as cancer, and whether this is different to those without an illness. This can then be used in future to improve psychological treatments, as well as screening and referral pathways.

Time to complete: 30 minutes.
