Summer Fundraising with the Kids

The summer holidays are finally here and we’ve got some great boredom-busting ideas to help keep your kids active and having fun, all the while raising much needed funds and awareness of pancreatic cancer.

The wait is finally over, the days are longer, the sun is shining and school is over for the summer! This is set to be a great few weeks of relaxing and enjoying the freedom from day to day life. Whether you have family trips planned or simply just enjoying the garden, there’s nothing better than getting some quality family time together.

Amongst all this free time there could be an opportunity to squeeze in some activities that all the family could get involved in whilst also getting an incredible sense of achievement.

Swim

Our swimming challenge “Swim for Survival” is a fantastic way to get active and become a supporter of Team PCA! It’s easy to take part, simply choose a location, set your distance and get sponsored.

Get the entire family involved by creating a cheer! Pull on one of our awareness t-shirts and nominate someone to be your adjudicator!

Run

There are plenty of running opportunities happening across the country, from a 5k run all the way to a full marathon, and we can help you to get signed up. It’s entirely up to you where you start but if you need a little help with getting started or training ideas check out The Running Bug for some great information.

Whatever event you choose, the whole family can be there to cheer you on or take part and of course, we will be supporting you all the way!

Walk

If swimming or running isn’t your thing and you’d like to take a slower pace then walking is a great way to get active and take in some views. There are plenty of walking challenges from coastal strides to countryside hikes and you can find places to stop along the way to enjoy the scenery.

We also have an annual summer walk ‘Striding for Survival’ which is always a sell out event! Join us at Striding for Survival in the summer of 2019. There’s a choice of 3km, 7km, 11km walk, jog or run. It’s perfect for all families, friends and running groups. Don’t miss out on this fun filled day in the beautiful grounds of the Windsor Crown Estate in Virginia Water.

This is one for the whole family whether you’re all keen cyclists or simply enjoy a slow ride to take in some views. There are always lots of different types of cycling events to choose from. You could set up your family as a team to get fundraising for PCA all while making some lasting memories.

The Coast to Coast cycle ride starts in the Irish Sea town of Whitehaven, this challenge encompasses some of the best scenery Britain has to offer! From the stunning mountainous region of the Lake District to the beautiful open moors of the Northern Pennines. This is a four day experience that will take you the breadth of Britain…coast to coast!
