Sip 2 Tenby – Pedal for PCA
Chris Ashley, from Oldham, and 5 others will be putting their feet to the pedals to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer Action in their incredible bike ride from The Secret Sip craft beer house in Royton to Tenby in South Wales. The team will be starting the 220 mile journey on the 3rd of June and is expected to take 3 days.
The cycle is a tribute to Paul Manning, a close friend of Chris, who sadly lost his battle in February to pancreatic cancer – the UK’s fifth biggest cancer killer.
Chris says, “Firstly a massive Thank you to everyone who has donated and given us such great support so far. We are doing the training and charity cycle, for the memory of Paul Manning & his family. We hope raising funds for Pancreatic Cancer Action will go some way to helping someone else in a similar position.”
Pancreatic Cancer Action is committed to working towards earlier diagnosis of the disease so that surgery, currently the only cure, is made available to the sufferer. The charity fund research into early diagnosis, provide medical education programmes, and launch awareness campaigns.
Ali Stunt, Founder of Pancreatic Cancer Action, said, “We are so grateful that Chris and his friends are taking on this incredible challenge for Pancreatic Cancer Action, please back them in their fundraising efforts.”
“We wish you the best of luck and hope you enjoy the bike ride.”
