PCA Community Representative wins Fundraiser of the year!
We are absolutely delighted to announce that Becky Wright our Community Representative for Grimsby has won the ‘Fundraiser of the Year 2017’ Award at the Grimsby Compass Community Awards.
The Compass Community Awards are hosted by Compass FM a local radio station in Grimsby. The awards celebrate those in the local community who are unsung heroes and work tremendously hard to benefits other individuals and the wider community.
We were thrilled to be able to nominate Becky for this award and she is a very deserving winner. Becky works tirelessly to raise funds and awareness for pancreatic cancer.
Becky’s story
Becky sadly lost her husband, Shaun, in 2015 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. She went on to set up a Pancreatic Cancer Action Community Fund – The Shaun Wright Foundation – with the help of her daughter Lucia.
With support from friends and family and her local community The Shaun Wright Foundation have raised just over £40,000 to date! Funds have been raised from various events such as Tough Mudder, skydives, marathons and an annual community fun day.
