I want to Turn It Purple for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month! What can I do?
Turn it Purple is Pancreatic Cancer Action’s awareness month campaign, taking place every November. It is a chance for families, friends and communities to unite to show their support for those affected by pancreatic cancer.
Pancreatic cancer suffers from a chronic lack of awareness across the UK. We need greater awareness of the disease and it’s symptoms to ensure that more people are diagnosed in time for surgery, which is currently the only cure.
By taking part in Turn It Purple during November, you will help raise vital awareness to help improve early diagnosis. Here are 4 ideas to get you started:

Facebook cover photo competition
You can have fun and engage your social media followers with our new competition.
All you have to do is upload a photo to your Facebook or Twitter and hashtag #TIPcoverphoto and it will automatically be entered! You can also go to the Turn It Purple Facebook page to enter. Don’t forget to share it with your friends and ask them to vote!!
The winner will be our social media cover photo for the whole month of November and win a goody bag!

Hold a Wear it Purple day!
Hold a Wear It Purple day (purple mufti day) in your office, school or with friends and get people to donate to wear a outfit. You could also a purple party with friends – the kids can have one too!
Last year we even had a couple of supporters who wore purple for the WHOLE of November and got sponsored! You can set up a Just Giving Page or email fundraising@panct.org to get sponsorship forms or download them right here – Sponsorship Form
Involve your workplace or local business
Why not encourage your local cafe, shop, pharmacy, hairdresser to decorate their display windows with purple items?! You could also ask them to put up some of our posters in the window, a notice board or by the till.

A really simple and effective way to raise lots of awareness is to spread the word on social media pages like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. You can share a photo of you and your friends with our new selfie frames, share one of our posts or add our Twibbon to your profile picture!
