George’s 10-Mile sponsored walk

11-year-old George from Hartlepool recently walked 10-miles in memory of his Auntie, Karen Shadforth, who sadly lost her battle with pancreatic cancer on the 1st of January this year.

George’s walk began at the Blue Lagoon near the Hartlepool Power Station and continued along the Seaton Carew coastline through the Hartlepool Marina and into the Headland. Once George had lapped the Headland, he headed back to the Hartlepool Rovers Rugby Club just in time for kick off for their first home league game of the season!

George smashed the walk and took on this challenge with pride, determination and strength to remember his Auntie Karen. The rugby team wore their PCA t-shirts with pride and George was lucky enough to receive a signed man of the match ball as a token of appreciation from the club.

After catching up with George’s Dad, Glyn, he said:

“I am probably the proudest Dad in the world at the moment.

George was absolutely fantastic and smashed his walk.”

We can’t thank George enough for showcasing what you can do to remember your lost loved ones and his fundraising total is a testament to how determined he really is. George raised £1,403 with his sponsored walk and he deserved every penny raised!
