Ali Stunt's Blog

Dear friends and supporters

At this time of great concern for us all, I sincerely hope that you and your loved ones are in good health.

This is an unprecedented time for Pancreatic Cancer Action, as it is for the health sector, communities and businesses across the UK and it is unsettling for everyone. We wanted to let you know that we are still here for you. Our office is closed but the PCA team is still working hard remotely and we will continue to support patients and run projects that will help improve early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Please see the leaflet enclosed for more information.

You can still get in touch

If you are worried about the virus or symptoms of pancreatic cancer, you can continue to phone us (0303 0404 1770) and speak with us via social media and e-mail (enquiries@panact.org). We are also consistently updating our blog advice for patients about corona virus you can find it here: www.panact.org/corona_advice.

Will you help protect Pancreatic Cancer Action from the impact of coronavirus?

During this time, we must consider the financial implications of the virus and the potentially damaging impact on the charity. Pancreatic Cancer Action rely on generous donations and amazing supporters like yourself taking part in events to help fund our early diagnosis research and awareness initiatives. These funds also help us provide free information for patients and carers at a frightening and bewildering time.

Unfortunately, we are facing the prospect that many of the events and activities we depend on to fund our vital work are being cancelled or postponed. This will significantly affect our income and therefore we will not be able to carry out some of our vital work.

Today, 26 people will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and 24 people die. This is the heart-breaking reality of the disease and a powerful reminder that we need to continue to take action against pancreatic cancer, fight for early diagnosis and support patients and their families.

That’s why I would like to ask you, if you would consider helping us through this incredibly difficult period by giving a donation today.

I am enormously proud of the incredibly positive impact Pancreatic Cancer Action has had on the lives of so many and I am determined that we must go on to improve early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer and the quality of life for patients. I hope you are able to help ensure this is the case by supporting Pancreatic Cancer Action.

Thank you for continuing to support us – we are very much here for you, but we need your help more than ever.

With my thanks and very best wishes,

Ali Stunt
