Holding a stand and collection tins

Holding a collection stand is not only a great way to raise funds but also to raise much needed awareness within your community!

Where to have your collection stand

There are lots of places that you can collect funds for us such as your local high street, a local sporting event, train station, supermarket or shopping centre.

Supermarkets are a great place to hold a collection stand.

What type of collection

There are many different forms of charitable collections, and all have different rules associated with them. Some of the most common are:

  • Street collections – If you are holding a collection in the street, you will need to obtain a licence, either from your local authority, or if in greater London, the Metropolitan Police
  • Private collections – If your collection is still open to the public, but being held on private property such as within a shopping centre or rail station, you must obtain permission from the landowner or manager
  • Static collection boxes – Boxes must be secure and tamper-proof. You do not need a licence to place these in a shop or business, just permission from the business owner
  • House-to-house collections – Licences must be obtained from the relevant local authority or Metropolitan Police

Collection tins

A collection tin left by a till checkout can raise on average £30 every 6 weeks! This can really add up over time and we know that small change can make a big difference!

We are asking our supporters to place collection tins within their community – an easy and effective way to raise vital funds and improve early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer!

With just 50 collections out in circulation, we could potentially raise £13,500 over the course of the year – a fantastic amount of funds and awareness from just placing collection tins!

Don’t forget to keep your collections safe and legal! Click here for further information.

fundraise for pancreatic cancer action

Eve Hinis has a collection tin in her fish and chip shop and to date has raised over £1000!

I first heard about Kerry Harvey when she first got ill. Her Grandmother Shirley is one of my lovely customers who I had known for many years.

Shirley always kept me up to date with what was happening with Kerry who at the age of 24 was suffering with pancreatic cancer.

I had never heard about pancreatic cancer before but I knew I wanted to help. I have had a collection in my shop ever since!

Kerry educated me and I am now educating my customers.“ – Eve Hinis
