BBQ with us this summer to celebrate Pancreatic Cancer Action’s 15th Birthday.
With the weather heating up, host a sizzling BBQ and raise funds.
When?
Our 15th Birthday Bonanza runs across June, July and August so you can choose a date and time that suits you and your family and friends!
Location
The great British weather can be hard to predict, so think of a venue which will cater for all eventualities.
If you plan to host a BBQ at home, make sure you have enough space indoors if the weather turns, or have a gazebo ready that can cover the BBQ.
You could also hire out a local venue hall or ask a local restaurant/bar with a garden area. Quite often, they will happily help support charity events and activities.
Remember to get any necessary permits or permissions for hosting the event.
Don’t forget the refreshments
No BBQ is complete without a refreshing drink whether it’s a soft drink, mocktail or a glass of bubbly.
Have the tunes ready!
Get your best playlist ready for the day so attendees can dance the day away. Maybe you know someone who could sing or play an instrument. A live musician is always a winner!
Ways to raise funds
Charge an entry fee for an all you can eat event.
How about hosting competitions or games throughout the day for a donation to enter?
A raffle is always a great way to boost funds and perfect for getting local businesses involved.
Remember to have different food to cater to all preferences. Veggie burgers as well as beef burgers. Salads are always a winner at BBQ’s. Don’t forget the coleslaw and all the condiments!

The difference your donations make
Here are just some of the amazing ways your fundraising helps us deliver our vital work.
- £500 – Could get our accredited patient information into hospitals and cancer centres.
- £50 – Could ensure a local GP or pharmacist gets expert information on detecting pancreatic cancer.
- £10 – Could deliver patients and families specialist information and support.
Our work wouldn’t happen without the money you raise and donate. Every pound you raise helps us make a big difference to people with pancreatic cancer and enables us to support their families and loved ones.
Just some of the impact we have made with your support:
- In 2024, we distributed over 3,800 health information booklets
free of charge to patients, healthcare professionals, carers and family members who need them. - We continue to fund a NHS Pancreatic Clinical Nurse Specialist post to support pancreatic cancer patients and their families.
- To date, over 7,000 GPs in the UK have completed our accredited e-learning module – and we know from their first-hand experience that this has made a real difference in saving lives.
