Leave a gift in your will

Currently 27 people a day die from pancreatic cancer in the UK. This is due to the majority of patients are diagnosed too late for potentially curative surgery. It doesn’t have to be this way. By leaving a gift in your Will to Pancreatic Cancer Action you will help us make early detection of pancreatic cancer a reality – saving the lives of many thousands of people in the future.

Since the charity was founded in 2010 we have seen small improvements in survival rates and the amount of research funding given to pancreatic cancer but there is still a long way to go. Your support will ensure that our vital work continues and more and more people are diagnosed at a stage that gives them the best chance of survival.

Why write a will?

Writing a Will is the only way that you can be certain that your wishes will be followed after you die. Having a Will isn’t a legal requirement, but it’s the only way to ensure that your estate is passed on to the people and charities that you want it to go to.

Without a Will, it’s the legal system that will decide who receives what from your estate. By writing a Will you will be able to protect the future of your loved ones, keeping you in control of where your money goes after you’re gone.

Family and friends first – then think of Pancreatic Cancer Action…

We understand that family and friends come first, so once you have taken care of your loved ones, please consider leaving a gift that will make a real and lasting difference.

We have lots of advice on how to write your Will:

I would like to amend my existing Will

If you have already made a Will, but now wish to include a gift to Pancreatic Cancer Action you can either consider revising your Will to ensure it reflects your current wishes and any life changes, or if this is the only change you wish to make, you may decide to write a codicil. A codicil is an additional document to your Will, and we would recommend you seek professional legal advice before deciding the best route forward, and ensure that if you do write a Codicil Form this takes note of your original Will and is stored with it.
