Pancreatic cancer research has been underfunded for decades.

Despite it being the UK’s 5th Biggest cancer killer, pancreatic cancer receives less than 5% of cancer research funding. In 2013 investment in pancreatic cancer research amounted to only £5.4 million in contrast to Breast Cancer that received £41 million.

Cancer Research UK have revealed new statistics that show that that cancer deaths are falling, with 10-year survival rates of some cancers improving significantly since 1917. While this is fantastic news we are saddened to see that the same cannot be said for pancreatic cancer with UK deaths increasing by 8% in the last 10 years and 10 year survival rates at a shocking 1%.
