TIP Pharmacy of the Year Award
Throughout November, pharmacies up and down the country have been Turning it Purple for Pancreatic Cancer Action’s second annual Pharmacy of the Year Award.
The award was set up in 2018 to commend the pharmacies that go above and beyond in raising vital awareness for pancreatic cancer. And this year they have done exactly that!
We have been completely overwhelmed by the response of participating pharmacies this year. The award has once again signified an integral part that pharmacies play in the fight against pancreatic cancer, both by spreading awareness and in aiding early diagnosis.
A Look at 2019’s Participants
This year saw thousands of pharmacies take part in the campaign and we have been truly overwhelmed with the passion and enthusiasm that they have all put into their own campaigns. Pharmacies have been using their presence in store, on the High Street and across social media, to help draw their community’s attention towards pancreatic cancer.
With a number of creative new ideas from new and previous participants, the bar has certainly been raised. This year saw pharmacy employees decorating their stores, dying their hair, wearing purple clothes, and putting on bake sales, raffles, quizzes and photo booths. Some even went as far as putting on their own awareness stands out of store. In doing so, they have raised a substantial amount of funds towards research into early diagnosis.
The Winner to be Announced Tonight!
With so many entries, and such enthusiasm from all participants, choosing this year’s 2019 Pharmacy of the Year Winner will be no easy job. However, the deadline is now closed, and we are currently undergoing the thorough process of marking all applications.
All pharmacies will be judged based on their efforts towards awareness, social media, decorations, creativity and community reach. Their overall points will be calculated, and the winner will be chosen.
The winner of the Pharmacy of the Year Award 2019 will be announced tonight!
