“No one should have to suffer this”
Susan Wood shares the story and experiences of her husband, Kerry.
Before his diagnosis, Kerry Wood had put any niggles down to his arthritis. It wasn’t until he started to lose his appetite and a lot of weight that he made an appointment with his GP. Kerry’s wife, Susan, tells us more:
“Kerry suffered from arthritis and put the back pain down to that. He had an appointment on the 10th of September 2018 and was referred to the quick diagnostic appointment on the 18th of September 2018.
There, he was told he had pancreatic cancer which had spread to his liver. He was hoping for treatment but was told on the 28th of September 2018 that he was too weak and that nothing more could be done. Kerry sadly passed away on the 13th of October 2018.
It is such a quick, destroying disease. No one should have to suffer this. Early diagnosis is paramount to saving lives.”
