Sir John Hurt passes away from pancreatic cancer aged 77
We are very sad to hear today that one of Britain’s most celebrated and respected actors, Sir John Hurt, passed away from pancreatic cancer, aged 77.
The Bafta-winning actor, known for roles in Harry Potter, Alien and The Elephant Man, was diagnosed with the disease in 2015 and given the all clear in October 2015. However, he continued to endure periods of ill health and stopped working.
Friends, colleagues and fans of the actor are paying tribute to him on social media after the news broke that he passed away on Friday 27th January in London.
