Second place in Royal Parks Half for PCA runner

Team K & Co from Glasgow, took on the challenge of the Royal Parks Half to raise funds and awareness for Pancreatic Cancer Action on Sunday 11th October. The team raised almost £5,000 and Lyndsay Morrison who ran with the team came second in the woman’s race.

Lyndsay pounded the pavements of the stunning Hyde Park in the annual 13.1 mile route through Central London, which saw over 16,000 runners this October. Lyndsay’s incredible time of 1:22:22 gave her second place out of all females that took part.

AlsRoyal Parks Half K & Coo running for Team K was team leader and organiser Kirsty Todd; Stephanie Todd, Jennifer Peaty, Jennifer Livingstone, Rosie MacDonald, Michelle Collins, Gemma Mills and Carole Byrne. The team ran in the memory of Lorraine McNicol and Michael Mills who sadly passed away from pancreatic cancer.

Lyndsay said: “I really enjoyed the event and I am absolutely thrilled to have come second while wearing the vest for Pancreatic Cancer.  All the girls had their own goals for the day and did amazingly well, they did all our sponsors and themselves proud as well as raising a phenomenal amount of money!”

Currently only 3% of those diagnosed with pancreatic cancer survive beyond five years.  Pancreatic Cancer Action is committed to working towards earlier diagnosis of the disease so that surgery, currently the only cure, is made available to the sufferer.

Ali Stunt, Chief Executive at Pancreatic Cancer Action and a pancreatic cancer survivor, said: ‘We are extremely grateful to Team K & Co and all the time and energy they put into the run for Pancreatic Cancer Action.

As a charity, we rely on the generosity of individuals like this to help us increase the numbers who survive this grim disease.”
