#PJsforPanCan a huge success!

We are completely overwhelmed by the response to #PJsforPanCan and just want to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who took part by uploading a photo, donating, talking on the radio and sharing the symptoms of #PancreaticCancer.

The basis of Pyjamas for PanCan is to raise funds and awareness of pancreatic cancer by wearing your pyjamas to work, school, university, your local community event or  hosting a party at home.

Of course, this is not possible during the COVID-19 pandemic. I imagine a lot of people might be wearing their pyjamas everyday anyway (not going to lie, I am) so it’s not exactly a novelty anymore to be popping on your jimmers for work!

As you know, the fundraising events we rely on for income have all been cancelled. It was essential we adapted this campaign to make sure people can still take part at home using social media. We quickly had to create a completely virtual #PJsforPanCan campaign.

The idea was simple, take a photo in your pyjamas, post it to social media and donate! We also set up a special dedication page where people could honour a loved one with the help of a third partner, MuchLoved.

With COVID-19 dominating the news, and our lives, we understand that fundraising is not necessarily at the forefront of people’s minds. I would have been happy if a handful of people took part in this awareness and fundraising initiative. I have, however, been overwhelmed by the response! Not just from the pancreatic cancer community but from people we have never interacted with before as well.

With the help of some incredible supporters it was a huge success and yesterday we saw companies, families and individuals put on their jimmers for a good cause. See some of the photos below or search #PJsforPanCan on Twitter.

We know that if it wasn’t for our amazing supporters, the campaign would not have been such a success. Thank you to all you amazing people who are continuing to support us during these difficult times.

It means so much, I know for a fact we couldn’t do what we do without you!

Don’t forget, you can still take part anytime and anywhere!
