Photo Competition: Less than one week to go!

There’s less than one week left in our Turn it Purple cover photo competition, so we want you to vote, vote, vote!

So far we’ve had 24 entries, 9000 visits and 1800 votes from all over the world! Thank you so much to everybody who’s got involved with our competition, every vote and visit has helped to raise the profile of pancreatic cancer, which is fantastic – especially so close to awareness month!

We need you to help decide which photo should win our Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month competition and be the face of Turn it Purple!

Voting is easy! Simply visit our Turn it Purple Facebook gallery of entries, select your favourite picture, and click ‘Vote’. You also have the opportunity to leave a comment to show your support if you want to.

The photo with the most votes will be our Turn it Purple Facebook cover photo for the entire month of November and will also receive a PCA goody bag!

Get voting everyone and good luck to all of our entrants!

Are there other ways I can prepare for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month?

Turn it Purple

This year’s Turn it Purple pack is jam packed with purple props, a treasure map, a selfie frame and much much more; giving you plenty of photo opportunities and ideas to get involved this November. Be sure to check out our Turn it Purple toolkit inside the pack which has a detailed overview of what you can expect from us this awareness month as well as lots of fun, easy ways to get involved with fundraising and raising awareness in your local community. Purple Lights for pancreatic cancer

One way you can prepare for awareness month is to visit www.purplelightsuk.org and try to organise a light-up of your own.

This can be a local landmark, a building in your village or even your home. Lighting up a building purple is a fantastic way to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer as well as celebrate the lives of loved ones affected by the disease. Don’t forget to upload picture to www.purplelightsuk.org once your light up is up and running!

Fundraising events

From bake sales and craft stalls, to park runs and swim-a-thons there are lots of ways you can fundraise this November. For more inspiration and advice on how to get started, click here.

Awareness Stands

We have lots of awareness materials to help you run a successful awareness stand during awareness month. Whether you decide to hold a stand at your local supermarket, at your local school or even down the high street, we have materials for every occasion. Click here to find out more

Share our key information on your social media

A super easy way to show your support and get involved this November is to share our key information across your social media. You could share facts and statistics, patient information, recipes, or even information about diagnosis and treatment. You could also encourage your followers to like and share the information to their timelines as well to increase awareness amongst your online community.
