Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month 2016
It’s Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month and the start of Pancreatic Cancer Action’s Turn It Purple campaign!
Raising awareness of pancreatic cancer is important all year long but this is the time of the year when we have the most voices speaking out about pancreatic cancer which has the lowest survival rate of all common cancers.
Individuals and business all over the UK are coming together by shining purple lights on buildings, wearing purple, holding purple bake sales, sharing posts on social media, raising awareness within the local community and donating to fund life-saving research.
Every year, almost 9,000 men and women will be newly diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and due to late diagnosis, they will be faced with an average life expectancy of just three to six months. By Turning It Purple we are generating discussion and awareness of pancreatic cancer and it’s symptoms which could ultimately save lives. It is also a way to pay tribute to all those who suffer or have lost their battle to the disease.
It isn’t too late to get involved! You can order a Turn It Purple pack to help get you started or take a look at our website for lots of ideas!
