How to set up a team fundraising page on JustGiving

Fundraising by yourself can be a daunting process but taking part in a team fundraising event can not only make it less stressful but also more fun and create a team-bonding experience between you and your friends, family or colleagues!

When fundraising as part of a group, one of the easiest ways to raise money is by creating a JustGiving page. Instead of having one of the group manage the fundraising page by themselves, JustGiving now allows you to create team pages.

The benefit of creating a team page allows all team members to be displayed on the page, your overall fundraising total and what charities you are fundraising for. This allows people, wanting to donate to your page, to see who’s taking part and why they’re getting involved.

Here, we’ve created a list of instructions from JustGiving on how to set up a team or shared page and the difference between each of them.

A Guide to Team Pages

A team page allows you and your friends to join your individual fundraising pages together. They’re great if you want to raise money separately whilst still contributing to a larger team goal.

The page will list everyone’s individual page, as well as the different charities you’re raising money for and the collective total you’ve raised together.

You can find the instructions on this here.

A Guide to shared Fundraising Pages

A shared Fundraising Page is a single page that lists the names of everyone taking part. These kinds of pages are a good idea if a group of you are all fundraising for the same charity.

You can find instructions on this here.

How can I join and invite others to a team?

As long as you’ve created an individual fundraising page, you can join a team by visiting the page and clicking on the ‘Join the team’ button.

Select the page you want to join to the team and click ‘Confirm’. If you’re joining an open team, your page will be added straight away. If you’re joining a closed team, the team administrator will be notified by email that you’d like to join.

If you haven’t created your own fundraising page yet, you’ll need to set that up first. If you’d prefer to share a fundraising page that a friend has already created, just ask them to include your name in the story section of the page.

My friends are having problems joining my team

Make sure your friends have created their own individual Fundraising Page by logging in and clicking on ‘Start Fundraising’. To invite them to join your team, send them the web address of the page (www.justgiving.com/teams/…) and ask them to click ‘Join the team’.

Why not fundraise as a company team?

JustGiving now has the ability for corporate organisations to get involved with fundraising by creating a hub for their employees to sign up to.
