Help us share PC Aware!

This year, our Pancreatic Cancer Aware (PC Aware) campaign took place in Northern Ireland where our awareness survey revealed that only 2% of people know a lot about pancreatic cancer and 87% of people can’t name three symptoms of the disease with certainty!

Help us share PC Aware to raise these awareness figures in three easy steps!

Hi *****

Did you know that only 2% of people in Northern Ireland know a lot about pancreatic cancer, and it has the lowest survival rate of all cancers because of late diagnosis?

UK charity, Pancreatic Cancer Action, are trying to improve these stats in Northern Ireland and have launched an advertising awareness campaign here to raise awareness of the symptoms of pancreatic cancer (to help earlier diagnosis).

Currently, less than 7% of people diagnosed with the disease survive up to 5 years as they are often diagnosed too late and are unable to receive potentially life-saving surgery. However, if you are diagnosed early, and can have surgery, your chance of survival to and past 5 years increases to 30%.

As you can tell from these statistics, early diagnosis is key to survival! And for you, or for someone you know, to receive an early diagnosis, knowing the signs and symptoms of pancreatic cancer is so important

Here they are, please share them by forwarding this e-mail to your friends and family!
