The event was organised by Mark Bell, who is currently fighting pancreatic cancer which was diagnosed last year, and Tina Hack, Mark’s Wife. This is not the first event Mark and Tina have held for the charity as they also organised a family fun day and football match last October which raised over £3000 too.

Mark says “Thank you to everyone for attending and helping a such worthwhile cause and I want to say a big thank you to Tina for helping organising the night.”

Ali Stunt, CEO and founder of the charity, and Lucy De’Lemos, fundraising manager of the charity attended the event to support the night.

Ali says “I am so honoured to have been able to attend such a special evening and to have been able to say a few words about why raising the profile of pancreatic cancer is so important.”

“It was a stunning evening that Mark and Tina put so much effort into and a big thank you to all who attended and helped to raise that fantastic amount.”

Pancreatic Cancer Action is committed to working towards earlier diagnosis of the disease so that surgery, currently the only cure, is made available to the sufferer. The charity fund research into early diagnosis, provide medical education programmes and launch awareness campaigns so that pancreatic cancer no longer has to be UK’s 5th biggest cancer.
