Join us at Glasgow Royal Infirmary to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer
Due to its subtle and easily overlooked symptoms, pancreatic cancer is often diagnosed at an advanced stage.
Early detection significantly increases the chances of successful treatment, making awareness crucial.
This is why we’re setting up regular awareness stands at Glasgow Royal Infirmary—to educate the public, support patients, and assist healthcare professionals in their understanding of the symptoms of pancreatic cancer.
Upcoming Awareness Stands
We are excited to announce that our awareness stands at Glasgow Royal Infirmary will be held on the first Friday of every month. This stand will be in the concourse of the Queen Elizabeth Building, near the Pancreatic Cancer clinic, where our funded Pancreatic Clinical Nurse Specialist, Marie Lynn, supports patients from across Scotland.
The upcoming dates and times are as follows:
- Friday, 7th June: 9 AM – 1 PM
- Friday, 5th July: 9 AM – 1 PM
- Friday, 2nd August: 9 AM – 1 PM
In addition to these regular stands at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, we are also hosting awareness stands at other locations:
- Perth Royal Infirmary: Wednesday, 26th June, 9 AM – 1 PM
- Ninewells Hospital, Dundee: Friday, 14th June, 9 AM – 1 PM
We also plan to establish these as monthly stands to broaden our reach.
Calling All Volunteers: We Need Your Help!
To make these awareness stands a success, we rely on the dedication of volunteers. As a volunteer, you will play a crucial role in:
- Assist in setting up and managing stands: Ensuring the stands are well-organised and welcoming.
- Engaging with the public, staff, and patients: Interact with visitors, answer their questions, and provide a friendly, informative presence.
Don’t worry, you won’t be hosting these stands alone! A member of our team or a fellow volunteer will accompany you, and you will work as part of a team to manage the stand.
How to Get Involved
