12-hour cross-fit challenge!

Sarah Sorkin, from Aylesbury, is taking part in a 12 hour cross-fit challenge on the 15th June to raise funds and awareness for Team PCA in memory of her beloved mum who sadly passed away from pancreatic cancer

The event is organised at Crossfit Chaos Theory gym in Aylesbury with ‘Battle Cancer’, which is a mass-participation fitness competition raising money for cancer charities.

Sarah will be taking part with her husband, the owner of the gym and her battle cancer team.

Sarah’s mum, Pauline, was misdiagnosed with gallstones before her diagnosis of pancreatic cancer in November 2015 and sadly passed away in March.

Battle Cancer

Sarah says, “Being a part of battle cancer from the early days really helped with my grieving process. Crossfit is my passion and it really helped me get though some dark times.

More and more people are raising money for charities which is great but that also means you really have to do something extreme to raise money. Which is how the 12-hour workouts came into my head really.

It should be a good fun filled day. We have raffle prizes from some amazing companies and I’m trying to arrange a prize for whoever raises the most money.”

Ali Stunt, Founder and CEO of PCA says, “When we heard about the 12-hour challenge that Sarah and her team were doing we were in awe as it will be such a physical and mental challenge that they will go through.

We are so grateful for the support from Sarah and want to wish them all the best of luck.”
