100 miles to win the fight against pancreatic cancer

Yolanda cycles 100 miles for Pancreatic Cancer Action

Yolanda, from Bourne, will be taking on the incredible 100 miles it takes to complete the Prudential Ride London. Taking place on the 28th July, Yolanda will raise vital funds and awareness for Team PCA.

The 23 year old maths teacher will be peddling in memory of her beloved grandfather, Robert Finlay
Phillip, who sadly passed from pancreatic cancer in 2008.

Yolanda, who has been training with her dad, has cycled between 60-120 miles a week in preparation for the event.

Yolanda says, “100 miles of cycling in 8 hours, whilst it’s most definitely a challenge for me it’s nothing compared to the challenges that people both suffering from pancreatic cancer and their loved ones are facing. I can’t lie, the cycling has taken over my life!

That is why it is so important for me to be able to complete this challenge and raise awareness and funds for the all important early diagnosis and further research into a cure.”

Ali Stunt, Founder of Pancreatic Cancer Action, said: “we are thrilled that Yolanda is taking on this incredible cycle challenge for Pancreatic Cancer Action, We couldn’t continue our work without generous people like Yolanda, so please support her in her challenge.”
