Stonehouse Ward at Derriford Hospital took part in Turn it Purple 2015! The ward was decorated with purple bunting, the staff wore purple and there was a cake sale and raffle. There were also leaflets and information regarding pancreatic cancer available.
Nicky Metcalfe who is a Matron for Surgery at the hospital said:
“As we are the hepatobiliary surgical ward for the south west peninsula and our patients are very important to us. They undergo a gruelling time from diagnosis to major surgery and then complex recovery. The ward nurses wanted to do something physically on the ward to show our patients that we are committed and to also raise awareness across the hospital about this disease.”
The hospital raised a total of £840 for Pancreatic Cancer Action!!
