When and where
The 2011 DoitforCharity London to Brighton Cycle Ride will take place on Sunday 16th September 2012
How fit do I need to be?
Hundreds of thousands of people take part in charity cycle rides every year – many of them for
the firsttime. It’s therefore perfectly achievable for the ‘average’ person to take part in this event but in order to maximise your enjoyment you DO need to train – and that means more than just a cycle ride around your local park! However, help is at hand in the form of the www.doitforcharity.com fitness pages where we give you a sample training plan.
What kit will I need?
Taking part in a charity bike ride that involves over 50 miles of cycling means that it’s not only you that has to be in good shape, the bicycle you ride does too! As well as your bike it is essential you have a helmet and a pair of gloves.
How can I raise the sponsorship money?
We ask you to raise a minimum of £100 to take part in the Doitforcharity Cycle Ride – the reason for this is that places are extremely limited and we obviously want maximum benefit from the places we have been allocated. However, you shouldn’t find it difficult to raise this money – after all you don’t cycle 50+ miles every day do you?! One top tip is to ask employers to match everything you raise pound for pound.
You can create your own personal fundraising page on JustGiving.com or www.doitforcharity.com/give where people can simply donate on-line.
What do I need to do next?
Simply complete the online registration form. As long as you commit to raising the minimum sponsorship we at Pancreatic Cancer Action will be delighted to have you cycling for us!
