Leading UK Flautist Lisa Friend and TV & Radio Personality Gaby Roslin Support Pancreatic Cancer Action at Summer Music Recital

Leading UK Flautist, composer and arranger Lisa Friend worked closely with Pancreatic Cancer Action to stage a delightful intimate music recital in aid of the charity. TV and radio personality Gaby Roslin also helped out coordinating the raffle and charity auction at the event on Tuesday 19 June 2012 evening  held at the eclectic Leighton House Museum in London.

Leading British actresses, Joanna David and Gemma Jones were among the guests.

During the evening Lisa Friend played a selection of romantic and classical works with her father internationally famous violinist Rodney Friend and other musicians.

Ali Stunt, Chief Executive of Pancreatic Cancer Action said, “It was a wonderful evening with beautiful music played by such accomplished musicians in a very special setting.  We are so grateful to Lisa agreeing to participate with her talented father Rodney Friend and the other musicians. It was such a treat and Gaby helped out too coordinating the raffle and auction so that our final total of funds raised was over £6,000.”

Lisa Friend started playing the flute aged 5. She went on to win a scholarship to the Royal School of Music and has since gone on to appear as a soloist with the Philharmonic Orchestra, the Liverpool Philharmonic, and the Prague Philharmonic as well as touring throughout the UK, France, Germany, Japan, Korea and China. She has also performed for the Royal Family, Steven Spielberg and the late Yehudi Menuhin.
