Why early diagnosis is so important: Mic’s story

“We left the house to go to A & E early one morning thinking he would be having an operation for gallstones. He never got back to his home again”
Linda tells us of husband Mic’s misdiagnosis for gallstones which, when identified as pancreatic cancer, was just too late.
This is a story which illustrates the fact that 50 per cent of patients are diagnosed in Accident and Emergency and that a diagnosis of gallstones is quite often made when in fact it was pancreatic cancer causing the symptoms.
