New date for Striding for Survival; 24th November 2012
Many thanks for your support so far with Striding for Survival. You and the many volunteers who want to get involved and help to raise money and awareness for Pancreatic Cancer Action make the event the success it has become.
Unfortunately, we have discovered that there is another event scheduled at the same location, on the date of our walk. We now find ourselves in a situation where the capacity for the venue on the 8th September makes it unsuitable to accommodate the many people involved in managing SfS.
Our main concern at SfS is the health and safety of our walkers – we want the event to be a positive experience for everyone involved.
After careful consideration we have decided that the best course of action would be to move the event to another date, when we can guarantee we have sufficient space and resources to support our walkers and volunteers.
Therefore, Striding for Survival will now be held on Saturday 24th November, at Grafham Water.
So what does this mean for you?
We do hope that you decide to join us for the rescheduled event in November. Please contact us to let us know if this will be possible.
As we work with all of our partners to implement the necessary changes, we will keep you informed. We anticipate that we will have full details in the next few days.
As you will no doubt be aware, this has the added benefit of making the walk an integral part of this year’s Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month’s activities, which means you will all be playing your part in raising awareness and funds for a disease which needs lots more attention. We believe that SfS will be a high note on which to end the month’s activities.
We’d like to take this opportunity to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, and to thank you in anticipation of your help. We hope that by bringing the event into November’s month of exciting calendar of events we can make it the best SfS yet.
