Daily Mail: Wendy tells her inspirational story to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer

Published in today’s Daily Mail (21st June 2011), Wendy Butler tells the story of her diagnosis for pancreatic cancer. Despite having metastatic disease (spread to other organs), Wendy is determined to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer – a cancer she had not heard of until diagnosed in February this year.

In a post-script to the article which was written at the end of March, Wendy has been responding to chemotherapy treatment and has seen a shrinkage in her tumours.

    My Dad died of this vile disease last January a mere 11 weeks after diagnosis and 3 years of suffering. I began raising awareness online through Facebook (Families in Support of Pancreatic Cancer Awareness) and through my local media. It is time PC was made a priority, other cancers get so much more publicity.
